Antique Scottish  Sewing  box, with transfer decoration circa 1840.

A shaped Scottish sewing box made from sycamore decorated with transfer decoration of different views. 

The views are romantic visions of the countryside. The interior is partitioned for sewing tools with a lidded central compartment decorated with yet another picture. 

Second quarter 19th century. 

It measures: 10.1" wide by 8.25" and 4"tall including feet. 

The box retains the original varnish.

It stands on turned rosewood bun feet.

The blue paper lining is original.
