Antique Burr Walnut  Domed-top Sewing  box,  circa 1875.

Antique Burr Walnut  Domed-top Sewing  box,  accented with an inlay of mother of pearl and abalone shell and having a lift-out tray.

circa 1875 .

It measures:  10.75" wide by 7.9" and 5.5" tall. 

The tray is covered in the original silvered paper and blue satin silk.

Detail: The sections at the top are for thread. This box would have been supplied without spools as thread was now being sold on reels.
