Chinese Export Lacquer Tea Chest with Scenes of Tea Trading Circa 1840.
 
Chinese export lacquer tea chest with scenes of tea trading the interior fitted with metal canisters, circa 1840.

The Chinese lacquer is in  good original condition.  The lacquer is decorated with  gold in two colors.

The shape is dramatic.

The feet are carved dragon heads.

It measures  8 inches wide  by 5.7 inches deep and it is 5 inches  high including feet: 20cm wide by 14.5cm deep by 13cm high.

The chest retains its original soft metal interior canisters
