Chinese Export Lacquer Tea Chest with Scenes of Tea Preparation and Trading  Circa 1820 
 
A Chinese Export Lacquer tea chest with scenes of tea preparation and trading. The names of the different varieties of tea written on the boxes. These include both green and black teas. 

There are such poetic names as "water fairy" and "harmonious gem" as well as more familiar tea names such as oolong. On one side of the tea boxes there is a drawing suggesting five bats, a symbol of good fortune. 

It measures 9 inches wide  by 6 inches deep and it is 5 inches  high including feet: 22cm wide by 13cm deep by 18cm high.
