A flame mahogany tea chest of traditional Chippendale form having fretted brass escutcheon and top carrying handle with a sliding side revealing a secret spoon drawer and standing on bracket feet. Circa 1770

It measures 10.3 inches wide  by 5.5  inches deep and it is 6.8 inches  high including feet: 26 cm wide by 14cm deep by 17 cm high.

Detail: Here the secret panel which hides the drawer is in the open position. The structural wood is quartered oak. The medullar rays are clearly visible. 
 
Detail: One of the bracket feet is a later replacement.
