Box veneered in walnut and inlaid in strips of geometric marquetry of light and stained woods.

It is lined in new paper. (See our book Antique Boxes, Tea Caddies, and Society -- 1700--1880, ISBN: 0764316885  Antigone Clarke & Joseph O'Kelly, A Schiffer Book for collectors Chapter 6 and figures 98, 99, 100).

 

Condition: Small chips on veneer. Slight misalignment at front.

Size: 9.8” x 6.6”, 4.2” tall. 23cm x17cm, 10.5cm tall.

Circa: 1880.
