Description:

Box veneered in walnut and inlaid in strips of geometric marquetry in various woods, some stained. 

The interior and tray lining is original, complete with original silk tops. (See our book Antique Boxes, Tea Caddies, and Society -- 1700--1880, ISBN: 0764316885  Antigone Clarke & Joseph O'Kelly, A Schiffer Book for collectors Chapter 6 and figures 98,99,100).

 

Condition: Good

Size: 9.9” x 6.6”, 3.75” tall. 25cm x 16.75cm, 9.8cm tall.

Circa 1880.
