JB623: Antique brass edged figured coromandel box with sprung velvet lined drawer  and a lift out tray suitable for storing jewelry.   The box has small veneer repairs.. Working  lever lock and key.

Size: 31.3 cm wide by 23.6 cm by 17.3 cm:  12.3  inches wide by 9.3  inches by  6.8  inches.

The box  and drawer have been relined with velvet .

The box has a working 2 lever lock and key. The lock plate is stamped " Secure 2 Lever".

 

The box has a sprung velvet lined drawer and a lift out tray suitable for storing jewelry.

The drawer is released by pressing the button in the center of the back between the hinges.

The box has brass edging which contrasts with the rich colour of the coromandel. This also helps to protect the edges of the box.

The brass is held in place by small square sectioned pins which are driven in at an angle.
