Description: An exceptionally rare card case with pressed decoration. The center depicts a wreath of flowers, exquisitely modeled. This is an unusual design which dates from an earlier date than most pressed tortoiseshell card cases. The details have an astonishing sharpness and  delicacy which makes  this piece a star of the genre.  See Antique Boxes, Tea Caddies, and Society, 1700--1880
