Description: An austere well proportioned snuff box in tortoiseshell, with a small gold inlaid plaque. The hinge is integrated within the form, so it is of tortoiseshell. It is in the form of the "Scottish hinge", see Antique Boxes, Tea Caddies, and Society, 1700--1880
