Description: A most unusual and delightful snuff box in transparent horn and tortoiseshell. The top is painted in brown and gessoed. A chinoiserie  design is scratched out of the painted surface showing the design in the white gesso in reverse.
 
Origin: England 

Circa: 1815

Materials: Tortoiseshell, horn.

Size: 2"across. 5cm.

Condition: small chips on shell.
