Description:
A brass bound walnut veneered writing box  opening to an embossed  leather writing surface and compartments for writing implements and paper.

Origin: UK

Circa: 1860

Materials: walnut

Size: 40.6cm by 23.2cm by 14.6cm: 16 inches by 9.1inches by 5.6 inches.

Condition: good over all, working lock and key. Some wear to the original leather writing surface.

The box retains its original embossed leather writing surface with both gold and blind embossing. 

As is usual the leather shows some wear consistent with age especially across the center.
