Face Screen made of feathers and painted with parrots and flowers.
is a really mad face screen. It is made of feathers which have been
painted with parrots and flowers. It is obviously the work of an
eccentric, a personal flight of fancy. It
has an oriental feel to it but whether it was made in
under the intoxicating influence of “
”, I cannot tell.
handle is in turned bone. Where it meets the screen there is a stylised
chrysanthemum made of delicately twisted cloth and carved
mother-of-pearl. This flower was popular in oriental design.
